Recruiting strategy

Recruiting is another important way the firm demonstrates that diversity is profoundly important to its success. KPMG's campus recruiting team is actively involved in recruiting at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and participates at the NABA and ALPFA student chapter level on a regional basis. Campus and experienced hire recruiting participate in numerous career fairs held by diverse organizations. Recruiting literature includes messaging on the firm's commitment to being a great place to build your career and an inclusive environment.

Our interest in increasing our presence on HBCU campuses is exemplified by our participation in the Howard 21st Century Advantage Program for the past three years. Through the program we've worked closely with groups of 20 students each year and have provided mentoring on a one-to-one basis by minority employees from KPMG.

HOWARD UNIVERSITY — Student Business Executive Leadership Honors Program

KPMG is a part of the Howard University Student Business Executive Leadership Honors Program. KPMG works with a team of students and provides mentoring in addition to career advice and professional development opportunities for future accounting, finance and computer professionals.

HOWARD UNIVERSITY — Leadership Skills Development Program

KPMG was at the forefront and involved in the creation of the Howard University Leadership Skills Development Program. The program is for newly hired professionals. An intent of the program is to increase the percentage of minorities passing the CPA exam and retention of minorities in Big Four firms. KPMG monetarily contributes to the School of Business Center for Accounting Education.
