The PhD Project
With the launch of the PhD Project, Doctoral Students Associations, and the Minority Accounting Doctoral Scholarships Program, the KPMG Foundation stated its commitment to supporting cultural and intellectual diversity in business. These initiatives were developed to enlarge the pool of minority business school faculty members-professors who could attract future generations of minority business students-and to improve the quality of business education for all.
The PhD Project celebrated its 15th anniversary this past year. When these initiatives began, there were only 294 minority business school faculty members. Today there are 1,043 with 380 doctoral students in the process of becoming business school professors.
