KPMG Ethics and Compliance

Ethics & Compliance

KPMG CARES

Everyone at KPMG has worked together to create an ethics and compliance program that is a model for our profession. Our program and associated Code of Conduct are designed to:

  • Build awareness of what is expected of you as you fulfill your day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Trust that the firm will support you when you raise a question or report a concern.
  • Encourage individual and management responsibility for doing the right thing.

We also have a confidential and anonymous 24/7 Ethics and Compliance Hotline in place to facilitate reporting of possible illegal, unethical, or improper conduct.

Our Four Pillars of Corporate Responsibility

KPMG is deeply committed to integrity, corporate citizenship, diversity and inclusion and protecting the environment. Together, these ideas represent the essential character of our firm and guide our actions in business, in the community and around the globe.

Integrity

Integrity

Our Code of Conduct defines the values and standards by which KPMG conducts business. It's a road map to help guide our actions and behaviors and outline the resources available to help each one of us fulfill our personal responsibility to both understand and comply with the firm's standards of honesty and integrity in all things.

Corporate Citizenship

Corporate Citizenship

At KPMG, we provide resources and support that empower and enable our people to demonstrate our core value of giving back to our communities where we live and work. Our main focus is youth and education and helping economically disadvantaged children grow into adults with the skills needed to become successful contributors to tomorrow's workforce while creating a diverse pipeline of future leaders.

Diversity & Inclusion

Diversity & Inclusion

KPMG is proud to foster a high-performance culture. Our ability to sustain that culture depends on talented, skilled employees as diverse as the clients we serve and the communities in which we live and work. Diversity and inclusion are critical components of our corporate responsibility strategy.

Living Green

Living Green

Living Green is an important aspect of our Employer of Choice initiative, as recruits and employees want to work for firms that recognize and address environmental issues. There can also be cost savings associated with eliminating waste and increasing efficiency through environmental initiatives. And climate change is an important issue for our clients, who are starting to understand and evaluate the environmental impact of their supply chain.

Caring For Our Communities

Kathy Hanna, National Managing Partner, Diversity and Corporate Responsibility, shares the spirit of volunteerism at KPMG.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

In cooperation with First Book, KPMG Family for Literacy (KFFL) provides children from low-income families with their own new books — sometimes, their very first book. In addition to raising money, KFFL volunteers visit classrooms, read to children and deliver the new books — nearly two million throughout the United States.

KPMG's Family for Literacy program provides children from low-income families with new books in collaboration with First Book, an award winning nonprofit social enterprise. The success of KFFL has been achieved by harnessing the energy and enthusiasm of KPMG's extended family including our partners, employees, spouses, family members, interns and retirees, as well as professional golfers and KPMG brand ambassadors Phil Mickelson and Stacy Lewis.

KPMG LIVING GREEN

"We understand the importance of our role as environmental stewards in protecting and preserving our planet. Through our Living Green program, we have established initiatives across the firm to reduce our carbon footprint, our consumption of energy, and our production of waste, all of which are keys to environmental sustainability and the overall impact we have on our communities. KPMG is a recognized leader in corporate responsibility and the Living Green program helps us better understand the impact our processes and actions have on the environment."
